Hello all!

Really looking forward to this Saturday afternoon. Not only to meet you but to link up, talk and share the best practices which work for your students and for you!

So as to get us thinking and prepared before the session, please bring to the discussion session some examples of your best practice in the form of plans, resources, student work and other items which:

  • Check for understanding often and in a variety of ways,
  • Share models or criteria with students of the product/outcome/skill you want them to create/achieve/practice,
  • You used in the early years of your teaching and still use today.
These resources could be electronic. Which is even better as we will be putting together a Google folder which we can then share and access once back in the classroom.

Also be prepared to explore the above areas as a group. It would be really interesting to explore how these areas relate to the curriculum that you deliver in your GEC school.

And, so by looking at these areas we will be looking into:
  1. What works well for you in this subject?
  2. What are some of the challenges you face in this subject?
  3. What are some strategies/resources/tools you use to help support your teaching and student learning in this subject?
We will be keeping a record of our discussions through this discussion template. And, there will be the opportunity for us to reflect on the conference and indeed this session.
